Neuromuscular electro-stimulation (NMES) developed to treat dysphagia, drooling and central or peripheral paralysis of the facial nerve (VII cranial nerve). Small doses of carefully calibrated current are delivered to the anterior portions of the neck in association with traditional therapy.
